Tremors in release order
Seven films and one thirteen-episode season, from January 1990 to October 2020. Only the first film ever played in cinemas; everything after it went straight to video, and the series sits between the third and fourth films, exactly where it was made.
In release order, Tremors (1990) is followed by Aftershocks (1996), Back to Perfection (2001), the thirteen episodes of Tremors: The Series (2003) and the prequel The Legend Begins (2004), then Bloodlines (2015), A Cold Day in Hell (2018) and Shrieker Island (2020).
How to read this table
Everything is in the order it came out, oldest first. The columns:
- Air date — when the entry was first released. Where a page carries something first seen outside the United States, that is the date used, and the notes under the table say so.
- Sch — schedule order, which breaks a tie within a single day. On a night two of these went out, the earlier slot comes first - and a streaming episode that dropped after midnight comes before a programme broadcast that evening.
- Notes — click Notes ... on any row for the episode's links and, where there is one, an explanation of the cross-over.
- Watch — where you can watch that entry, in your own country. The badges link to the episode itself rather than to the service's front page. On a narrow screen this column is hidden - tap Notes ... on a row to see the same thing.
- Watched — tick a box and it is remembered in this browser. Turn syncing on in Preferences and it follows you between devices, with no account and no email address. An episode listed on more than one franchise is ticked on all of them at once.
Three icons can appear in the Notes cell, and they are the reason this site bothers with release order at all:
Story impact — this episode references another series in the franchise.
Story arc — it is part of a story running across several series.
Guest star — a character from another series appears in it.
In the Watch column, the shape of a badge is the difference between watching something now and paying for it again:
- P+ Solid — included with a subscription to that service.
- P+ Outlined — there to rent or buy.
Your country is worked out from your connection and can be changed in Preferences. It is a snapshot rather than a live check, so treat it as a strong hint rather than a promise — services add and drop things constantly.

About this order
What is on this list
All seven films: Tremors in 1990, then Aftershocks, Back to Perfection, The Legend Begins, Bloodlines, A Cold Day in Hell and Shrieker Island. And every episode of Tremors: The Series, which ran on the Sci Fi Channel on Friday nights from March to August 2003 and was not renewed.
Three things that turn up in other guides are not here. A second series, with Kevin Bacon back as Val McKee, was shot as a pilot in late 2017; Syfy passed on it the following April, and it has only ever been shown once, at a television festival in 2019. It was never broadcast or released. Bloodlines came with a making-of featurette, which is a DVD extra rather than part of the story. And the fan wiki's Lost Episodes are unfilmed scripts from 1997.
The series is in the order it was shown
Tremors: The Series was not broadcast in the order it was made. The network did not like the second episode produced, Shriek and Destroy, and opened with two episodes on 28 March 2003 — Feeding Frenzy at nine and Ghost Dance, the sixth one made, at ten. Shriek and Destroy was held back and went out last, in August. Later reruns and the DVD set put the episodes back in production order.
This list follows the broadcast, because that is the order the series was first seen in. It shows in a couple of places: Ghost Dance introduces Cletus Poffenberger and his creature, whose origin story is Project 4-12, broadcast three months later as a flashback.
One date differs from Wikipedia. Its episode table gives A Little Paranoia Among Friends the same April date as Blast from the Past; it was in fact shown on 20 June, after a two-month break, and every listing of the broadcast agrees.
Where the series fits among the films
The series picks up after Back to Perfection. Burt Gummer, Nancy and Jodi carry straight over from that film as regulars, Perfection Valley is now a reserve protecting El Blanco, the albino Graboid the third film introduced, and the new lead has just bought the tour business that film's Jack Sawyer ran.
That is why so few episodes carry a cross-over mark. Burt, Nancy, Jodi and El Blanco are in the series from start to finish, and marking every episode they appear in would mark all thirteen. The marks go on the episodes that reach back further: Melvin Plug, the town's resident pest since the first film, in the opener and in Water Hazard; Nancy's daughter Mindy, grown up and recast, in Graboid Rights; and the Ass Blaster in Blast from the Past, which is one Nancy caught after the third film and sold to a pair of Las Vegas magicians.
The Legend Begins, which came out five months after the series ended, is a prequel set in 1889, and has nothing to do with it beyond the silver mine the valley was named for.
Six of the seven films are dated by the shop
With every film after the first going straight to video, the date that matters is the day it went on sale in America. For Back to Perfection, sources disagree by a day: its own Wikipedia article says 1 October 2001, but it went on sale on Tuesday the 2nd, which is the date this list uses. The Legend Begins is sometimes listed as a 2003 film; it came out on 2 January 2004.
Where the links go
Every entry links to IMDb, to Wikipedia and to the Tremors Wiki.
No episode has a Wikipedia article of its own, and the series article's episode table has no way to link a single row, so each episode's Wikipedia link goes to the series article.
